Nate's Glider Plane...

A couple of years ago, while we were visiting family in Utah, Nate, Brynlee and his parents went over to a park to fly a RC airplane. This was the beginning of a new hobby for Nate. He has bought a few, and CRASHED a few. I hate to say that I think it is funny to watch the plane crash, but it seriously is! It goes down and pieces go flying and I can't help laughing. Sometimes he was able to fix them and other times they had to be retired!

When we moved here and met our friends, the Mueller's, Nate discovered that he and Dave shared the same interest in flying RC planes! They have gone out flying a few times together and the little boys love to watch! Nate has been working on building one for a few months now, we have yet to fly it, but here is the finished product...

He decided he didn't want to paint it(or whatever you would do) incase he does crash it. He plans to take it for it's first flight when the weather is just right. I'll have a video to share whenever it happens!

Little helper

Today is laundry day. Every time I pull out the laundry, I have a little helper. Sometimes two little helpers. Today Brynlee is at preschool, so Gracen got to help all by himself.
First, you put some in. Over the head works great, as long as you get it in there...

Then you figure out why it still isn't in there...

Next you find a bungee cord to check out, before stuffing it in...

Finally, you close the door!

Happy Valentines Day

We started out the week on Monday by going out to buy valentines for Brynlee's preschool Valentines Day party. On our way I explained to her what Valentines Day is all about. She thought it sounded great! She picked out some "tanna tanna"(Hanna Montana) valentines and kept asking if her valentine party was the next day(Tuesday). I told her not until Thursday. The next morning she woke up and first thing she asked was... "Is today my love party?" I laughed at her and corrected her and told her it was a valentines party and not until Thursday.

On Wednesday night she got her valentines all ready for her friends and Thursday she had a fun valentine party at school. She was so excited for the bag full of valentines she brought home!

On Friday night Nate and I were able to go out to dinner, without the kids woohoo! It was great to have a chance to spend some time with him. He has been in his psychiatry rotation and hadn't had a day off for 3 weeks. It was a long 3 weeks!

Saturday came and we had heart shaped pancakes with strawberries for breakfast. Nate changed the brakes in my car while Brynlee and I made valentines and treats for our neighbors. We made some pretzel rolo treats, they are so good and easy to let a 3 year old help with. She also made a very lovely valentine card for Nate! She thought that making valentines was the best part of the day!

Nate and Gracen went to the store to get a new fish for our tank. When they got home Brynlee decided its name would be Remy, so now we have Remy and Maui. While Brynlee and Gracen were napping I made them a valentine treasure hunt. When they woke up Brynlee got to run around to find 4 heart shaped clues to lead her to the treasure...

The treasure box said...

Brynlee & Gracen-

You are so sweet,
and such a treasure!
We love you more
than anyone can measure!
Sent from above,
you are so loved!

Love,
Mom & Dad

I made that up on my own, and after I read it to Brynlee, Nate said, "Where did you find that?" Nice, huh? I had to inform him that I have become quite the poet. I had to make up all of the clues, too. They were pretty bad though, so I won't share them. At least they rhymed, and most of all the kids loved it! They also both got a new coloring book.
We finished the day by eating Nate's requested Weinerschnitzel (breaded pork chop) with asparagus and fried potatoes! Nate cooked and it was yummy! Brynlee and Gracen's little friend Owen came over to play while his mom and dad went out for dinner and then we made a trip to Petco to see the pets there. We had a really laid back, yet fun Valentines Day and we hope you did, too!

Bowling

A couple of weeks ago we decided to go out bowling with some friends. Brynlee was really excited because it was her first time. We were able to print off some coupons for a FREE game of bowling with the rental of shoes, which were only $3. We also got free tickets to an indoor water park in the area! I love a good deal, and something to do to get OUT of the house is just what we needed! We're going to go try out the water park sometime soon when Nate's schedule isn't so busy! Yay! I can't wait!
It took Gracen a while to warm up to the LOUD music! He enjoyed watching the glowing lights spinning on the ceiling fans.
He got his chance at rolling the ball down the lane, as much as a 1 year old can, and after that we couldn't keep him away! He kept saying "ball, ball!" After someone else had a turn he would clap his hands and cheer for them, he figured out what bowling was all about!

Daddy helping Brynlee! She would get so excited to roll the ball down the lane. Her first try it probably took it 5 minutes to get down all the way. I kept thinking it was going to just stop in the middle of the lane. She would lift up her arms and jump up and down if she knocked any pins down! She was so excited to use a pink ball!

And...the cute shoes! When I first handed her the shoes, she looked at me like "What? I have to wear these!" Once she put them on, I think she thought they were pretty cool!
She left with a pretty good score, 74. For a first timer, she was a pretty impressive bowler!

One happy little girl...

Walmart is getting rid of all of their material, so when we were there we picked up some tulle to make a tutu for Brynlee. She requested "a rainbow tutu, made with pink, purple and blue." It took me about an hour to get it all cut and tied for her. It was all ready and waiting for her when she woke up the next morning...do you think she liked it?

The finished product!

She loved it! It was just what she wanted! She immediately put on her leotard and got to dancing around the house!

Her ballerina pose!

Bananas

My kids have never really been big fans of bananas. We recently discovered that they will eat them if they are ripe. I think they are gross that way.

Gracen used to say the word banana, it sounded more like nana. For some reason he has started saying it in a different way...

It makes me laugh every time he sees a banana his tongue starts flipping like crazy! Usually he won't stop until he gets to eat a banana. I love this little guy!
