Growing Too Fast!!

Some days I just want to freeze time and make my baby stop growing up so fast!  He is just shy of 6 months and in the last 2 weeks this baby boy has learned a few new tricks.
(prepare for video overload)

He started out by pulling, what I call, his scrunchy face.  He will scrunch up his nose, stick out his tongue and breathe in and out really loud.

Just a couple days later, he started blowing raspberries.  The day after that he was saying ba ba ba.

Then he started to sit up really well.  He still falls straight backward, but he sits for a while.
He loves it too!  He likes to sit and play with toys much more than he liked laying on the floor with them.

Sitting next to his cousin, Elizabeth.  She is 2 months older than him.

He also decided it was time to start getting up on his hands and knees.

Then, on July 4th, he cut his first tooth.  It wasn't a pleasant experience.  He was quite the grumpy gus leading up to and on the day it finally showed up!  I was happy to finally know the reason for all that grumpiness.
The next day he started saying ma ma ma, while he was whining.  Maybe one day it will turn into a real (and happy) ma ma!

This growing boy is one of my favorites!  I just love him to pieces!

4th of July

I love the 4th of July!  One of my favorite holidays.
This year we had a great time spent together as a family and with some great friends!

We started out the celebration with a camp out in the basement.  Nate told Brynlee and Gracen he would put up the tent and sleep in it with them.  They were beyond excited and thought it was great!

Nate didn't last long, he was upstairs in bed after a few hours.  Gracen slept the night away, and Brynlee came upstairs to her bed at about 5 a.m.

Monday morning we got ready for the day while Nate went to the hospital to work his 2 hours.  Brynlee wanted a special 4th of July hair style, so we looked on the computer and this is what she wanted...

It's supposed to look kinda like a star and fireworks.  It didn't turn out as planned, but still very cute!

It was also decided that Bridger needed some special 4th of July hair, so Brynlee started spraying his hair with the water bottle.  His poor face was dripping wet by the time I noticed what she was doing.  I dried him off and he got a mohawk....

Gracen wanted special hair too, but his hair is too short to do much so we just combed it.

After Nate got home, we went to Monument Lake to go fishing.  Fishing didn't last long, Brynlee and Gracen decided it would be more fun to play in the water...

We weren't prepared for playing in the water, Gracen was trying really hard not to get his clothes wet.  Can't you tell by the way he's holding up his shirt??

After fishing, we went to a bbq at a friends house.  The kids had fun playing out on a slip n slide and just running around with the other kids that were there.  We had some yummy food, and played a card game.  Nate and Bridger were ready to go home to bed before the fireworks, but Brynlee, Gracen, my friend Jill and her kids and I all stayed up to watch the Sky Socks fireworks after the game.  The fireworks didn't start until about 11p.m. but we had fun!
Happy 4th of July!!

Do You Actually Know Who I Am?

I was sitting here with the baby, and Brynlee came to tell me that Gracen kept knocking over her things.  I called him in to come talk to me.  He walks up with a look on his face and says, "Do you actually know who I am?"  I said, "Who are you?"  He says, "I'm Batman!"  Using his toughest voice possible.  Then I asked him, "Do you actually know who I am?"  He says, "You're Spiderman!"

Now he won't answer to anything but Batman!

Splash pad

We found a fun place to visit on hot summer days!  I'm so excited about this because I've heard of some great splash pads, but never been to one.  When we lived in Des Moines, we didn't know about the one there until we moved, so we never went to it.

Here are a few pictures of Brynlee and Gracen at the splash pad....

I have a feeling we'll be spending lots of time here in the future!

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

A couple of weeks ago we went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.  It was so fun there!  I loved the giraffes.  They let you buy some lettuce to feed them, and the giraffes will come and put their heads over the fence and stick out their long tongue to eat it out of your hand.  Gracen loved it!  Brynlee didn't want it to lick her hand so she just watched.

When we ate lunch, a whole bunch of peacocks came hoping for some lunch for themselves.  They would just walk up and try to eat our food right out of our hands.  While the rest of us where finishing up, Gracen was trying to pet the peacocks.  They stayed just far enough ahead of him that he couldn't reach them.  It was funny to watch him tiptoeing behind them.

My sweet baby was enjoying the zoo too!

Gracen following the peacocks...

This zoo does lots of shows with the animals.  We went to see the grizzly bears just after they were done feeding them and doing some kind of show and the bears were diving in the water and playing with the fish.  It was awesome to see them being so active.  I didn't get any pictures cause the little viewing area was packed.
We bought a zoo pass, so it will be fun to go back and see some more of the shows they do.  I've heard the hippo show is pretty great!
