Last Friday we packed up and drove out to Sandusky, Ohio to look for an apartment and visit our friends Mark and Heather. We started out thinking it would take us about 10 hours, and having no idea how well the kids would do with such a long car ride, to our surprise they both did quite well even though our total time ended up being 12 hours. On Saturday morning we drove around to see what was there. We also took a tour of the hospital. The city of Sandusky is not really very big, I think around 74,000 people or something. I was expecting it to be small and similar to Tremonton, Utah, but it actually had a lot of stores that I normally shop at, a couple of grocery store choices, and a mall. We were able to look around at 2 different apartment complexes and come to find out that is our only option. We drove by some others and they were kinda scary so we didn't even look. We are working on signing a contract to move in to the apartment we wanted, they ended up getting an opening for the time we will be moving there. It works out great. I am really excited to be moving up in the world of apartment living. Not only will our kids have seperate bedrooms, but we will also have our own washer and dryer hookups and a garage to park in. Yes, I am so excited. Those were all the things I hoped to have. No more quarter laundry! We also went to church while we were there, and I am a little nervous about this ward. I am sure it is great and that everyone is nice, but it was the smallest ward I have ever seen in my life. There were, at most, 60 people there. It was spring break and Heather said there were a few more people who are usually there. There are a lot of inactive people. It makes me sad to leave our ward, I have really loved it here. It has been so fun for our family to live near others who are going through the same thing we are, who also have the same beliefs we do. Now I have an idea of what life in Sandusky is like, I sure hope we enjoy it there. Only 3 months to go and we will make the big move.
Sandusky is right on the edge of lake erie. The amusement park Cedar Point is on an island just outside of Sandusky, you can see it in the upper right corner of the picture. It looks big and I've been told it has some good roller coasters.
Kimberli and Gracen
This is taken at a resturant we ate at on our way through Indiana. We decided to take a different route on the way home and drove through Indiana's Amish country. The place we wanted to eat at was closed so we went to this other place which turned out to be pretty good. We also went in to an Amish furniture store and looked around. If only I had the money to buy some of the nice furniture we saw. One of these days.

Looks like you guys had fun! I can't believe the apt. setup you're getting, how awesome and way fun to be close to friends you know! Moving is scary! I remember thinking our ward was wierd, just because I didn't know anyone and wasn't used to it, and now I'm afraid we won't find another ward like it!
Just think of the huge place you're moving into...gotta love the little milestones! =).
I am so glad that you got an apartment. Looks like you had a good time in IN. I am glad that you made it home safely.
I love those pictures!! Too cute!!!
I am soooo happy you have that apartment. Is the same one that Mark and Heather live in? I bet you're relieved. Us, on the other hand we'll, well have to get together and talk! :)
Your new place sounds like it is going to be nice. The lake looks pretty. The town sounds a lot better than Tremonton so that must be good news. How can't believe how soon you are all moving. Keep us mind when you need help watching the kids so you can pack or whatever. I would love to have them over.
Yeah for the washer and dryer hook-ups and the garage. Sometimes it is just the little things huh? Glad you had a good time.
Yay for the great apartment! It's funny, the little pleasures we get out of life that so many people take for granted...a washer and dryer, a garage, etc. :) Haha! We're gonna miss you guys!
