Brynlee standing outside the Amtrak train we rode. We had a 3 hour delay in Denver so we got out and wandered around a bit. The train ride actually wasn't too bad. The kids slept well and we were able to get up and move around. After Denver there were not very many people on the train so we all got two seats to ourselves. If anyone asked Brynlee how the train ride was she would say "It went slowly and slowly."
While we visited Grandma and Grandpa Thompson we went to willow park in Logan. Bracken and Kate joined us and the kids loved it. Bracken would point to all the animals and grab Grandpas hair and just pull because he was so excited.
This is Gracens first swing experience, he really liked it.
Shyley and Brynlee playing in Grandpa's sand hill. This was their favorite part of being in Arizona.
We had to go swimming indoors because pools don't open til after Memorial day. Gracen loved the water and Brynlee didn't want to leave.
I love my Grandpa, he is so funny. He likes hats and the fun thing about this one is that my grandpa doesn't actually have much hair on top of his head, the hair is part of the hat. Isn't he such a cute grandpa!
This is some plywood that got scattered all around us one day while we were sitting outside watching the kids play in the sand. We looked up and saw a dust devil get pretty powerful. First it picked up some tumble weed and just a second later peices of my grandma's neighbors house were swirling all around and headed right for us. I grabbed Brynlee and hid under my dads workbench next to his shed. It was pretty scary. I always think about tornados happening in Iowa but never in Arizona, we got lucky and nobody got hurt. Those are just some of the pieces that were scattered within a few feet of where we were sitting just a few minutes before it hit. Brynlee keeps telling everyone that she saw 2 tornados.
These final two pictures are inside the train on the way home. We met some really nice people on the train and actually kind of enjoyed it. I love the picture of Gracen all sprawled out, doesn't he look so comfortable?
Well, that was our trip. We had a good time visiting family and friends. I got to see my sisters cute new house and we had fun with decorating. I was sad to leave, but also happy to be home with my husband. We came home to a really clean house (I was quite surprised) and he had dinner ready to be cooked and a cake ready to put in the oven for Mother's Day. He is a sweet guy!

Oh Gracen looks very comfy on that makeshift bed. Looks like you had fun! You are brave for doing that by yourself with two kids! Glad you're back!
I love the picture of Gracen on the swing. Kimberli was not as happy the first time we put her in one. That is scary about the dust devils. Luckily no one was hurt. I am glad that everyone made it back in one piece :) -mainly you...it is tough traveling with kids.
Looks like Utah was a lot of fun! The kids are both so big. I am glad everyone is safe from the tornado scare. Can't wait to see you guys!
Wow, I can't believe you rode a train to Utah. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun.
Glad you guys had fun in Utah and that the train ride wasn't too bad. My parents are coming out from Utah on a train too...not because they have to...because they think it'll be a fun adventure. Go figure! Hope you're feeling better.
