We made it!!

We finally got our phone and internet hooked up today so I just had to sit down and update my blog. With our move to Ohio and all the things we have done in the past 2 weeks I just keep thinking "I need to blog about that" and then I remember "oh, that's right, we don't have internet yet." Well, now we do, so here's the update!

On Tuesday June 24th Nate took his boards! Yeah, we are done with 2 years of med school, and all of the stressful studying and sleepless nights of stressing are behind us, for now anyway :)

We would have celebrated that night but Nate was beat, he didn't sleep much the night before, so I went to a fun girls night party with some friends(I wish I would have thought to bring my camera), and had fun! Then on to packing for the big move to Ohio.

On Sunday June 29th, Nate's parents and Brother Jason and his wife Kate and their little Bracken got to Iowa. We were so excited to see them, and have them there to help us! Monday morning, bright and early we headed to Ohio.

After a long drive and a horrible construction detour, I was finally able to answer the question Brynlee had asked about a million times with a "yes, we are in Sandusky, finally!" I told her we had to stop at the store before we went to our apartment so we could get a pizza for everyone to eat. She didn't want to get out of the car at the store she wanted to just wait with Grandma, she said, so in trying to get her to be excited about getting out we were telling her that we could stretch our legs and walk in the store for a few minutes. Just before we got to the store Brynlee said "I need to get out of the car to stretch my elbows" we couldn't stop laughing at her, silly girl!

Everything went well with getting the truck cleared out and the apartment was cluttered with boxes. On July 1st we decided to take a break from unloading and go see Lake Erie. It was perfect timing for the sunset and it was really beautiful looking out across the water.

Nate's family was so awesome to come and help, we really enjoyed having them here with us!

On July 3rd we went out to see Kirtland. It is such a pretty place, really green with lots of trees. We did the tour of the Whitney store, house and mill first. Then we went to the temple and through the tour that the community of Christ church does. It was really interesting to hear about the Kirtland Temple through the eyes of another church. It was a neat experience to be there and see the place where our church has so much history and where so much work had taken place.

Next came the 4th of July, I love this holiday! It is always such a fun and happy day! We did some more unpacking and later that evening we went with Nate's family and our friends the Schwendiman's out for ice cream at a place called Toft Dairy. It was good ice cream :) Then we went to see the fireworks out on Lake Erie. It wasn't as good as I thought they would be because they were too far away to get the full effect, but it was still fun!

Here is Heather and Mark getting a feel of what life would be like if they had twins!

We had to start the evening out with sparklers, is it safe to give a 3 year old a sparkler? I was starting to get nervous that she would run into somebody with it, but she thought it was great!

Brynlee loved playing with Kate and Bracken, she got spoiled with lots of attention from them while they were here.

I love this picture of Gracen, he is such a sweet little boy!

Happy 4th of July!!

Hey Erica,
I think that you and Nate need to have a lot more kids because they are so stinkin' cute! I don't know that much about med school but why did you have to move in the middle of it?
