Anyone seen the new Nissan Altima commercial?? Nate and I have seen it a couple times this week, and both of us couldn't help but laugh about how our little guy is VERY similar to the little guy in the commercial! Let me tell you about this commercial...
There is a little boy playing with his toy cars, smashing them into each other. Then he's in the backyard smashing them with a baseball bat, kicking them, and throwing dirt clods at them. Next, he's in the bathroom squirting a bottle of shampoo on one of them, and it shows him dropping one into the toilet. (The look on his face is priceless as the car drops in the toilet, too!) He covers them with slugs, smashes them into his mashed potatoes, lets the dog catch them in his mouth, tries to saw one in half, and finally, it shows him jumping on them. While the lyrics in the background are from the song "Devil in Disguise" by Elvis Presley.
You look like an angel
Walk like an angel
Talk like an angel
But I got wise
You're the devil in disguise
Now, I'll tell you what similar things Gracen has done:
He likes to smash his cars together. (No biggie, most boys do)
A couple weeks ago, Nate and I both (at separate times) found him in the backyard smashing some of our plants with a broom in the same way the little boy does on the commercial.
Just about 2 days ago, I found him in the bathroom squirting a bottle of hand soap into the opening of his squirt gun.
Not to mention the look on Gracen's face when he is doing something he shouldn't!
If he could only get his little hands on a few other things, I could just picture him trying out a few of the other things in that commercial... sawing, slugs, good thing the toilet idea hasn't crossed his mind (yet!)
I loved it! It really gave us a good laugh!! Our little devil in disguise! He really is so much fun, and just keeps the days interesting! Without a doubt, things could get boring pretty quick without him here!
Just the other day, he ran into the kitchen for something, I was sitting in the living room, and I hear him yell out, "MOM! YOU'RE A GENIUS!!" I'm not even sure why I'm a genius, but it gave me a good laugh!
A couple weeks ago we were all getting in the car to go somewhere, he was talking about something, and with his excited little voice he says, "THAT'S FANTASTIC!!"
Another time, in the evening when Nate was home, he put on Nate's shoes and walked around saying, "I'm a BIG daddy, and stop that RIGHT NOW!" He was imitating the way daddy sounds when Gracen is being a little too crazy and gets in trouble!
He says things that make us laugh all the time, and it definitely makes the day much more fun! We've been trying to enjoy our one on one time before the baby comes. The first week and a half of Brynlee being in school we were both sick, but this week has been fun. We've been out to library time, made some yummy strawberry freezer jam, cleaned and unpacked a few things. He loves to help, it doesn't matter what I ask him to do he wants to help! I love his little laugh, and he seems to know the best times to remind me that it's okay to laugh, usually that happens to be the times he's in trouble!
I just absolutely love my little devil in disguise!!
Sporting his beloved raccoon hat! |
Last week I went in to check on Gracen, he was supposed to be napping. For a second I got a little worried, then I started looking all around for him. I found him... |
He moved his blankets and pillow into the closet and was sound asleep! |
